An Elderberry Syrup Recipe for Glowing Skin

elderberries and elderberry syrup for glowing skin

Elderberry syrup is a well-known herbal immune tonic for cold and flu season – and this recipe of mine adds in extra herbs that help boost collagen and promote clear, glowing skin!

Elderberry syrup is typically made by simmering dried or fresh elderberries with water and then adding a sweetener like honey to make a syrup.

In my recipe, I add a combination of herbs that support radiant, healthy skin from within. Hawthorn berries, hibiscus, rosehips, schisandra berries, and calendula are all full of skin-loving bioflavonoids that boost collagen. Ginger, cinnamon, and orange peel all boost circulation to the skin. Calendula also promotes healthy lymphatics and gut health – essential for healthy skin (especially in those prone to acne and skin inflammation).

You can find all of these herbs here in my favorite online herb shop.

To get the benefits of this elderberry syrup, take about 1 teaspoon once or twice daily. It’s delicious AND your skin will love it!
